Zagreb and its colors

BLUE is the color of Zagreb. It is found on the coat of arms, the shirts of Zagreb’s football club Dinamo, the public transport –city trams, buses and the funicular. Not to forget lake Jarun, referred to as the Zagreb’s Sea.

RED is the color of Zagreb and it’s markets, more than 20 of them scattered around the town and recognizable by beautiful red umbrellas with unique colorful pattern originating from 18th century folk costume worn in Šestine, one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Zagreb.

WHITE is the color of Zagreb. Ski World Cup named «Show Queen» Trophy takes place every year in January on the slopes of Medvednica Mountain and it’s highest peak- Sljeme (1035m), only half-an- hour drive from the city center.

GREEN is the color of Zagreb. Medvednica mountain, numerous parks around the town, visible and hidden ones, gardens, green surfaces and promenades, «Green Horseshoe» – a line of eight green squares in the Down Town…green makes people relaxed and happy, did you know that?

COLORFUL is Zagreb with it’s amazing street art. This is something we’ll let you discover on your own. Feel free to ramble around the streets and even sneak into inner courtyards where you’ll find some hidden street art treasures.
